Both Turks and Armenians have demonstrated before the Turkish Embassy in the US capital Washington D.C.
The Turks this time outnumbered the Armenians.

Turks made preparations before the Turkish Embassy days before April 24th,which Armenians consider as the anniversary of the 1915 incidents.
Turks living in and around Washington D.C assembled on the pavement before the Turkish Embassy as of the wee hours of the morning carrying banners and Turkish flags.

Also joined by Azerbaicani Turks, the Turkish group waved banners explaining the atrocities carried out by Armenians against the Turks in 1915 and the occupation of Upper Karabagh.
After singing the national anthem, the Azerbaicani national anthem and the youth anthem, the Turkish demonstrators started shouting out slogans over loudhailers.

The demonstration staged under strict security measures taken by the police ended without incident.
Turkey's ambassador in Washington Namık Tan later invited the Turks and Azerbaicanis to the embassy and thanked them.

Ambassador Tan said it was the first time that the Turks this year were bigger in number than the Armenians adding that how this is important should be told everyone.
The Chairperson of the Turkish-American Associations Günay Evinç said April 24th 2011 is a turning point in Turkish-American history as it is the day the Turkish-Amlerican community started using and safeguarding their rights.
