Turkish envoy urged Armenia to disavow its adventurist policy.
Armenia occupied Azerbaijani lands in violation of all norms of international law, says the article by Azerbaijan’s ambassador in Turkey, Faiq Bagirov, titled “When will the issue of genocide be ended?” in newspaper Star.
20% of Azerbaijani lands were occupied before the eyes of the world community and Armenia seems unwilling to abandon these areas, the ambassador said.
“Armenia sets territorial claims not only against Azerbaijan, but also its neighbors, including Turkey”, Bagirov continued, while urging the world community to condemn the actions of this country.
The ambassador also writes that at the time when Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan create mechanisms for cooperation in the region, Armenia takes steps that undermine stability and development in the region. However, these developments do not meet the interests of Armenia itself.
In conclusion, Bagirov urged Armenia to disavow its adventurist policy.
“One cannot go far with a lie and occupation of others’ lands in our globalizing world. Armenia should come to understand that the way it has chosen is leading to nowhere”, the ambassador said.
