“The More Countries Recognize The “Genocide”, The Bolder Armenians Will Be Occupying Azerbaijani Lands”

E-mail Print PDF

Interview with Zardusht Alizade, political expert.

Q: The Armenians worldwide have stepped up efforts to impose “1915 genocide” upon the world due to the 24 April. How effective can Armenia’s efforts to move the world community into pity through imaginary facts?

A: Armenian elite aims to turn the Armenian people to a foreign policy tool of great powers, and ignoring the tragedies of the Armenian people ensures a good life for itself at the expense of its people.

This elite turned its own nation into a tool of Russian foreign policy in 1915.  During the Second World War it drew the Armenian people into a big affair in the Middle East, it received a terrible massacre, deportation while itself doing this against its own people. Later in the end of 20th century this elite repeated this once again.

And to justify their dishonest, treacherous policies, Armenian leaders managed to convince their people that the Armenians are long-suffering victims of bad neighbors.

The authorities understand that any attempt of a small nation to tear away part of a big state always ends up in massive losses among civilian population.

Q: Could this elite give the "Armenian genocide" a geopolitical character in international relations?

A: The great powers today use this issue to "bend down" Turkey and Azerbaijan. Turkey is an important regional player, and European countries are using this issue to put pressure on Ankara. They don’t care about the Armenian people and their ideals. Naked, pure politics is better for them.

Q: And how painful is the issue of “genocide” imposed by Armenians on the world for the modern Turkey?

A: Of course, it is unpleasant. It is very unpleasant. But on the other hand, this is not fatal.

Q: Armenians claim that international recognition of the “1915 genocide” is very more important for them. Are you sure that they do not aim to make compensation claims to Turkey

A: Armenian political analysts are convinced that recognition of "genocide" is a guarantee to continue Armenian foreign policy. That is, the more countries recognize the “genocide”, the bolder Armenians will be occupying Azerbaijani lands, the more they will have territorial claims against others. They do not reckon with the fact that the Armenian people decreases in number.

Last week Azerbaijani and Georgian scholars met in Baku and decided to join efforts of Baku and Tbilisi to fight common evil – Armenian nationalism.

Q: Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani-Georgian relations can not be called trouble-free. To what degree this cooperation can be effective?

A: Azerbaijani-Georgian cooperation should be based not on anti-Armenian orientation but development of cooperation, trade, economic and cultural integration. It is very important. We must always be not against someone, but against something.

Regarding the Armenian issue, I reiterate that Armenian nation's elite, the intellectuals are very rotten, and it keeps plunging its people into trouble, it orients them in a wrong direction - not development and friendship, but hostility and rivalry. And on the other hand, this elite does not consider how small is their nation and its capabilities. It drives Armenian people in some major international conflict all the time.
