Tomato Import From Turkey Protested in Yerevan

E-mail Print PDF

Armenian farmers marched in Yerevan in a protest against inexpensive tomato import from Turkey.

The farmers gathered outside the government building claiming that local producers can not stand against the concurrence with tomato imported from Turkey, which cause huge damages on them. They said it was very expensive to cultivate tomato under the local conditions because they had to use expensive natural gas in the greenhouses. The farmers called on the government to take measures to ban import of agricultural products from Turkey.
