Azerbaijanis Express Discontent To OSCE PA

E-mail Print PDF

On 13 May, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Chairman Petros Efthymiou met with political parties in Azerbaijan.

Despite the fact that the OSCE Minsk Group has been engaged in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution for a long time, it has failed to achieve any positive results, a fact which has created a negative image for the organization in Azerbaijani society.

Chairman of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov said the afore-said views were brought to attention of the OSCE PA chairman at a meeting with political parties of Azerbaijan.

“We also said at the meeting that we support such meetings and want them to be fruitful,” Ahmadov said.

Efthimiou was also told about the letter sent to the Karabakh mediators by the ruling party to protest against illegal resettlement of Armenian families in Azerbaijani territories.

“I also expressed our discontent over this issue to the OSCE PA chairman. I believe that the more quickly we convey this information to world community, the faster occupation policy of Armenia will be exposed,” Ahmadov added.

The ruling party official noted that OSCE PA chairman has enough information about Azerbaijan and demonstrates his unbiased approach.

“I think Azerbaijan has done much with regard to democracy and Azerbaijan cooperates with OSCE in this matter,” Ahmadov noted.
