Istanbul based Kadir Has University plans to start offering a course of Armenian language utilizing the grant of $ 23,500 received from Black Sea Trust of German Marshall Fund reports International Herald Tribune
Serdar Dinler, director of Universities center for lifelong learning said that the course will be taught by a Ph. D student from Armenia.
“Turkey is becoming an energy transit corridor and a center of regional diplomacy. Moreover Turkish government initiated new ‘zero problems with neighbors’ policy and we think that our new generation should lead a more productive dialogue with neighboring countries, including Armenia, Russia, Iran and Greece. We believe that knowledge of languages will only contribute to this,” Dinler added.
Kadir Has is a private University founded in 1997 and named after its founder, Turkish auto magnate.
