US Congressman Henry Waxman of California has responded to the letter sent by the Azerbaijani diaspora. US Congressman Henry Waxman of California has responded to the letter sent by the Azerbaijani diaspora as part of the campaign "Stop the killing of children by Armenian armed forces, cut US aid to Armenia."

In his letter the Congressman expressed gratitude for contacting him, Azerbaijan-America Council reports.

'Thank you for contacting me over your concerns about the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. I take into account your views on this issue.

As you know, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains a huge problem for Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as a serious obstacle to economic integration and prosperity in the South Caucasus region,' the Congressman says in a response letter.

'According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the problem of more than 500,000 Azerbaijani internally displaced persons and refugees remains unresolved.'

'I hope that the U.S. initiative to develop stronger relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as our efforts in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group will ultimately lead to a lasting, peaceful and complete solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,' he said.

The congressman also said he would keep the matter under review during the debate in the House of Representatives.
