Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan met the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, in Washington on Thursday.

As OSCE Minsk Group co-chair the United States will continue full assistance to achieve an agreement between the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict sides and resolve the problem, Hillary Clinton said during a meeting with the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

"Resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is possible only by peaceful means," Clinton said, Novosti Armenia quotes the Armenian Foreign Ministry, as saying.

Clinton highly praised the developing and strengthening friendly ties between the United States and Armenia. She said the bilateral partnership covers a wide range of issues - from politics to interpersonal relations. Clinton stressed the importance of the US-Armenia relations and expressed hope for continuing the dialogue.

Thanking for the invitation, FM Nalbandyan said the frequent meetings with the United States demonstrate Armenia's commitment to develop and strengthen the bilateral collaboration, upgrading it to a new level by joint efforts.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues, including the possibilities of developing and broadening economic collaboration and the positive dynamics of the democratic reforms in Armenia.

They further exchanged views on the recent developments in the Karabakh peace process. Clinton said the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is possible only through peaceful talks and added that the United States, as a co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group, will fully assist the conflicting parties in reaching a consensus.
