E-mail Print PDF

Carrying Turkish flags and wearing red and white, thousands of Turkish-Americans gathered in New York to attend the 30th Turkish Day Parade and Festival on Saturday. The crowd met at the corner of 53rd Street and Madison Avenue in Manhattan to march to Dag Hammarskjöld Park.

The parade was organized by the Federation of Turkish American Associations (TADF). TADF President Kaya Boztepe offered his thanks to everyone and the institution that gave support for the organization of the parade.

Thousands of people gathered at Dag Hammarskjold Park following the parade where celebrations were held. Several Turkish singers including Linet and Ferhat Göçer gave performances in the park, whilst groups from Turkey performed folk dances.
