Raw Stats: Armenia Violated The Ceasefire 80 Times, In May

Last month Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire for 80 times throughout the frontline.

According to the monitoring conducted on the basis of Azerbaijani Defense Ministry’s official reports, 2 servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces were killed and 2 wounded as a result of ceasefire violations by Armenia.

On May, the most cases of violation of ceasefire were observed in Fuzuli region. The units of Armenian army violated ceasefire for 25 times in the direction of positions and points of Azerbaijani Army, situated in the south-west of the frontline – Fuzuli region. The short-term fights at intervals 15-30 minutes observed in this direction.

On May the ceasefire was violated in Terter for 15 times, Aghdam – 12 times, Goranboy – 3 times, Jabrayil – 2 times.

Intensive violation of ceasefire regime was also observed on Armenia-Azerbaijan state border. On May, the ceasefire was violated in Gazakh direction for 8 times, Gadabay - 9 times, Aghstafa – 4 times, Tovuz –1 time, Goygol – 1 time.

According to the monitoring, in January-May 2011, the Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire in the frontline for 276 times (24 times in January, 56 in February, 80 in March, 36 in April, 80 in May). In general, 8 servicemen of the Azerbaijani Army, 1 civilian (a child), were killed, 6 were wounded. Two civilians hit a mine near the frontline. One of them was wounded, other one died.
