A symbol of the Turkish-Armenian friendship, Monument of Humanity erected in Kars, Turkey was removed completely.
Last piece of the 24.5-m monument consisted two human figures was removed on June 14. Removal of the 800-tonne 17 pieces has been conducted by Avshin Inshaat company since April 25.
Now foundation flagstones are removed there and it will be finished on June 24.
Kars municipality decided to remove the monument on February 1, 2011. Its construction began in 2008, but has not been completed yet. During the meeting with Kars officials Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that this strange monument was built in contrary to all architectural styles.
