'Ordinary Armenians want the soonest resolution of the Karabakh conflict

The people of Armenia must urge their authorities to step back to the path of justice and take a constructive stance on the fair resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno Karabakh'.

The statement came from vice premier of the Azerbaijani government, chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and Displaced Persons Ali Hasanov.

He was speaking at the ninth international conference of ombudsmen on “Cultural rights of national minorities and migrants: legal aspects and implementation” held in Baku.

“We are waiting for the Armenian leadership to step to the path of justice, since as a result of its aggressive policy Armenia was left aside of all regional projects”, he said.

“I address the people of Armenia, not the leadership of Armenia and call on them to urge their leaders to step back to the path of justice and not to keep their country in such a poor state. We know that ordinary Armenians want the soonest resolution of the Karabakh conflict, since they really suffer from its being unsettled”, Hasanov said.

According to the vice premier, Azerbaijan is creating all necessary conditions to ensure housing and work to their refugees and displaced persons.

“Nonetheless, people will feel at ease only at home”, Hasanov said.

The vice premier noted that the Armenian church has been preserved in Baku which cannot be said About Armenia where all Azerbaijani mosques, cultural and historical monuments were devastated.
