Turkish Americans Send Letters to US Congressmen

E-mail Print PDF

ATAA issued a message urging Turkish American community and the Friends of Turkey to contact their representatives to inform them on anti Turkish resolutions in the US Congress and the Senate. The message is as follows;

Dear Friends and Members of the Turkish American Community:

Please, take a minute to participate in the Pax Turcica CapWiz letter campaign and inform your Congressional Representatives and local media about a concerted anti-Turkish racist campaign that is underway in Congress by a few Members of Congress.  House Resolutions 304, 306, and 180 and Senate Resolution 196 have been introduced simultaneously.  Simultaneously introduced, these resolutions demonstrate a pattern of systematic persecution of Turkish Americans by ethnic Armenian and Greek politics on Capitol Hill.

We urge Turkish Americans and friends of Turkey to inform the Members of Congress NOW!

Oppose the Unfounded Genocide Allegations Against Turkey in the US Congress

Join Turkish-, Azerbaijani- and Turkic-Americans to oppose the House Resolution 304 introduced by Representatives Robert Dold (R-IL) and Adam Schiff (D-CA) on June 14, 2011 and the House Resolution 306 introduced by Representatives Howard Berman (D-CA) and Edward Royce (R-CA) on June 15, 2011. Both resolutions constitute an attempt to legislate ethnocentric historical allegations and to charge an entire nation with the crime of genocide without legal, historical or factual basis.

Say No to H. Res. 304 and H. Res 306

No to U.S. Intervention in Turkey's Sovereign Religious Affairs

The House Resolution 180 introduced on March 17, 2011 and the Senate Resolution 196 introduced on May 24, 2011 call for the U.S. Congress to demand Turkey to grant special international privileges to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Istanbul, bypassing the Constitution and secular laws of that country. Both resolutions contradict the founding principles and the Constitution of the United States by seeking the federal government institution to interfere in sovereign religious affairs of a foreign country.

Join the Turkish- and Turkic-Americans to oppose H. Res. 180 and H. Res. 196 by sending the Pax Turcica Capwiz action letter to your elected representatives and local media.

Oppose H. Res. 180 and S. Res. 196
