Azerbaijani army is example of our country’s might, this is our people’s source of pride and it is able to ensure territorial integrity of our state.
The statement came from Aydin Mirzazade, deputy chairman of security and defense committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
He said Azerbaijani army is a structure meeting all requirements. The government has taken important steps to bring the army in line with NATO standards.
Armenia, which has occupied 20% of our lands and builds its policy on occupation of lands of neighboring states, is also aware of this fact, the MP continued.
The fact that Armenia possesses not very large natural resources, pursues militaristic policies and puts forward land claims to Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia lead to economic downturn in the country, the MP added.
“Armenia focuses on lands claims to neighboring states instead of building civil state and economy based on objective rules. This, in turn, causes a boomerang effect for an occupier state and deals a blow to itself,” Mirzazade noted.
