'Kazan meeting was the last in the OSCE Minsk Group format', expert says.
The viewpoints that Kazan meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents was the last chance to resolve the Karabakh conflict do not reflect reality. It is quite a different thing that this meeting was the last in the OSCE Minsk Group format, political expert at “Caucasus” Institute Richard Giragosian told a press conference on Thursday.
“It’s obvious that the format of the Minsk Group should be changed. Even Yerevan has started to speak of it. Some EU officials wish to replace France in the OSCE Minsk Group, while other EU members seek to involve Nagorno-Karabakh in the negotiation process. In this respect, a discussion is underway,” the expert noted. He also pointed out that Kazan did not achieve progress due to diametrically opposite positions of the parties.
