Today the closing plenary meeting of the 38th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Organization of Islamic Conference was held in Astana.
The meeting adopted a resolution on the activities of the OIC Youth Forum.
The resolution reaffirmed in a separate item the recognition of Khojaly tragedy and urged the OIC member countries and international organizations to take active part in the Justice for Khojaly campaign till full recognition of Khojaly massacre as a "crime against humanity" on international and national levels, press service OIC Youth Forum said.
Head of OIC Youth Forum Delegation at the ministerial session, Secretary General of the Forum Elshad Iskandarov said “the present resolution reaffirmed the unchanged position of 57 countries towards the Khojaly tragedy.”
Thus, about one-third of UN member states recognize the Armenian atrocities in Khojaly as a crime against humanity. This is a complete failure of Armenian propaganda that the decision of the OIC Parliamentary Assembly was "accidental."
The resolution also commended the work of the Forum to promote the role of youth in the UN Alliance of Civilizations, in particular, praised the work of the OIC Youth forum to establish the Global Youth Movement of the Alliance of Civilizations, the founding congress of which was held in Baku on 9-11 April.
In particular, the document has a point on a new role of the OIC Youth Forum as a sole representative of OIC in implementation of youth projects of the UN Alliance of Civilizations.
Elshad Iskandarov, speaking at the session, spoke about the work done within the organization, Forum’s participation in the process of UN AC, as well as OIC’s cooperation with international organizations aimed at development of young Muslims in the world and fight against Islamophobia.
The report reflecting OIC activities for the five years since establishment of the Istanbul headquarters of the organization was circulated among the participants.
