Over 7,000 refugees from Armenia and people displaced from the occupied areas of Azerbaijan are living in sanatoriums, an MP has said.

"Eighty percent of beds in various types of sanatoriums belonging to the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan's Kurort joint-stock company have been settled by about 7,000 families of refugees and internally displaced persons," MP Sattar Mehbaliyev, chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, said in remarks on the ruling New Azerbaijan Party website.

"At present, 20% of beds are used for treatment in the sanatoriums," Mehbaliyev said.

He expressed confidence that the country’s occupied lands would soon be freed, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolved and Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity restored.

The MP said the solemn military parade held to mark the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s independence and 93rd anniversary of the Armed Forces once again showed that Azerbaijan had a strong army capable of accomplishing this mission.
