Azeri MP Blames Armenia For Karabakh Talks Failure

E-mail Print PDF

Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva has attributed the lack of progress at the Kazan summit to Armenia's non-constructive position.

The independent MP, who is a member of Azerbaijan's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, set out her views in an interview with Turkey's TRT TV channel.

She said that the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in Kazan, mediated by the Russian leader, had provided further evidence that, unlike Azerbaijan, Armenia was interested only in dragging out a solution to the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

Ganira Pashayeva talked about Armenia's vandalism in the occupied Azerbaijani territories and said that Armenians had killed, captured and tortured thousands of Azerbaijanis during its aggressive campaign.

She said that dozens of Azerbaijanis remained captive in Armenia, contrary to international legal norms.
