There are 416 Azerbaijani diaspora organizations in the world, 102 of which emerged after the II Congress of World Azerbaijanis.
The statement came from chairman of the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs Nazim Ibrahimov.
"Forming a strong Azerbaijani lobby in the world is one of the main priorities of Azerbaijan. Expansion of cooperation with the Turkic diaspora organizations plays a huge role in this," he said.
The first Congress of World Azerbaijanis held 10 years ago opened a new phase in the life of Azerbaijanis living across the world, Ibrahimov added.
Ibrahimov noted the important role the Azerbaijani diaspora plays in bringing truth about Azerbaijan to the world.
“Attracting young Azerbaijanis, students studying abroad to participation in diaspora’s work is also a major concern.”
"As President Ilham Aliyev said, Azerbaijan carries out offensive diplomacy. In recent years the Azerbaijani diaspora has become more active than the Armenian and is ahead of the Armenian lobby in information war," Ibrahimov continued.
He expressed confidence that the Third Congress of World Azerbaijanis will adopt decisions that will contribute to further consolidation of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the world.
