'The premiere of a new staging of Serzh Sargsyan’s 'theater' took place last week.
This time the young officers of the Armed Forces were the spectators.'
The remarks came from Novruz Mammadov, head of the foreign policy department at the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, commenting on Armenian leader’s provocational statements about Azerbaijan.
'Obviously, one can not expect at least a little logic and sense of reality from Serzh Sargsyan’s statements. Circumstances in today's Armenia make shaky government of Armenia seek different methods of promotion, and it happens in a situation where opposition forces are gaining momentum, and the country is headed towards an irreversible instability.
In this context, "pathology" of the Congress (First Congress of the All-Army Junior Officers of the Armed Forces of Armenia) is a domestic political propaganda aimed at raising the morale of the Armenian society.
The society, which, relied on non-existent historical facts for years, have distorted the line between reality and illusion. Serzh Sargsyan’ speech is nothing but a product for domestic consumption, which does not require the weary in search of the true facts'.
Mammadov said that Armenia is far behind Azerbaijan in diplomatic struggle.
'In recent years Azerbaijan has significantly strengthened its political-legal, socio-economic might, has become undisputed leader in the region for economic potential, level of democratic development, has strengthened its position in international arena, while Armenia, becoming the victim of its own policy, which is primarily related to the territorial claims to the surrounding countries, has ended up in "blockade."
It is noteworthy that the fears exacerbate the contradictions within the Armenian society, for which a military parade in Baku was irrefutable proof of advantages of the Azerbaijan Republic. Today time goes by only in favor of Azerbaijan, prolonging the desperate situation in Armenia. In a world where geo-economics dominates geopolitics, where 70% of economic power in the region accounts for Azerbaijan, the fear of an advantage can not be hidden in banal speeches.
It is already clear that if Armenia does not change its policy, the day will come and it will become economically, politically, socially weak and wil be forced to ask for leniency from powerful neighbors. Sarsyan built his speech in the form of tasks set for the young people. Physically, the soldiers can still achieve ideals imposed upon them by their own president, but they can never serve as an example of bravery and courage, no doubt,' Mammadov added.
