Political scientist Fikrat Sadikhov has commented on the statement of Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian.
Armenian leadership is doing everything possible to bring the resolution of the Karabakh problem to a standstill, create a deadlock so that to continue negotiations for long.
Political scientist Fikrat Sadikhov has thus commented on the statement of Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian that ‘the proposal of the Azerbaijani foreign minister to start working over the peace agreement on the resolution of the Karabakh conflict without coordination of the main principles is practically an intention to frustrate the negotiation process of the recent years.
“I have an impression that Nalbandian is searching for some pretext to avoid the continuation of the negotiation process, since Mammadyarov made clear references to the history of the negotiation process, the Prague process and updated Madrid principles. Azerbaijan’s position on the negotiation process was voiced quite rationally, logically and conclusively and particularly on updated Madrid principles”, he said.
“There are no differences there. The issue is just about the political will and Armenia’s intention to understand and take into account the situation and make definite and final conclusions. It all rests on the coordination of main positions: principles of the nonuse of force, territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and, naturally, self-determination of the Armenian population of Nagorno Karabakh within the framework of the territorial integrity of our country, Azerbaijan”, Sadikhov said.
He said Armenia is doing everything to bring the problem to a standstill and create a deadlocked situation so that to continue negotiations for a long time and dictate its groundless and absolutely illogical claims to Azerbaijan.
