'No Secret Talks Over Armenian-Turkish Protocols'

E-mail Print PDF

'Establishing relations without any preconditions is the shortest way to Armenian-Turkish reconciliation.'

Armenia and Turkey are not holding any talks, Armenian foreign office Spokesman Tigran Balayan said as he answered a question concerning possible secret talks over the Armenian-Turkish protocols.

According to the Hurriyet Daily News, the Turkish authorities are planning a set of measures to normalize relations with Armenia.

According to the report, sources close to the Yerevan government described these measures as “small, symbolic steps that go beyond church restoration.” "A decision was made by the Turkish side to send positive signals to the Armenian side," the Hurriyet Daily News writes.

Mr. Balayan re-affirmed Armenia's position: establishing relations without any preconditions is the shortest way to Armenian-Turkish reconciliation.
