Bagis: Sargsyan’s Statement Is Shooting Himself In The Foot

E-mail Print PDF

Turkish Minister for EU affairs Egemen Bagis gave a strict reply to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s territorial claim against Turkey.

Minister accused Armenian leader of running too far. Sargsyan has recently admitted that they occupied Nagorno Karabakh and the future generations of Armenia will seize Eastern Turkey. Egemen Bagis said:

“We see that there are backward politicians and even leaders not only in Europe, but also beyond Europe, who do not understand the peaceful policy of Turkey. Sargsyan, who implants his hateful views in the Armenian youth, leads the Armenian youth to darkness.

Sargsyan’s statement is shooting himself in the foot, running too far. We hope the Armenian youth will give the best reply to this foolish view. I know that the citizens of Armenian origin and Armenian community in Turkey are seriously concerned over these views. I believe that they will demonstrate strict position. Sargsyan must know that if he does not deviate from this path, it will not remain unanswered. Turkey’s friendship is strong and all friends of Turkey have benefited from our friendship. Those who pursued hostile policy with regard to Turkey always got their bitters,” he said.
