Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA), issued a message on the anniversary of the assault of Armenian terrorists to Turkish Consulate General in France. The message is as follows;

August 5, 1980 - Lyons, France
Two Armenian gunmen storm the Turkish Consulate General and demand the location of the Consul General. When the doorman does not understand the gunmen's broken French, the gunmen gun him down and kill. The Armenian terrorists storm the tourism waiting lounge, opening fire and killing one and wounding 11 French visitors. The Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA) proudly claims responsibility.
ATAA condemns these acts of violence against innocent individuals and remembers these tragedies with great sorrow and deliberation to bring the perpetrators and their supports to justice.
