The Cave Turks Used to Hide From Armenian Gangs

The cave Elmalı, that is used by Turkish people who were seeking shelter because of the terror of Armenian gangs between 1914 and 1915, can contain up to 5 thousand people. The cave which is settled 17 km distance to the district of İspir in Erzurum, is 2,5 meters high and 2 meters wide.

The height of ceiling reaches up to 20 meters at the inner parts of the cave. Nowadays the cave is a touristic sight and people who suffer of asthma seek cure in the cave, Nevsehirmedya.com reports.
