According to the report of Arminfo news agency which is centered in Yerevan, Movsisian said, “A few days ago we received information from the Turkish side that the work is in its due cource”, and said that Armenian side was ready for exportation. Stating that agreement for electricity exportation to Turkey was made with Turkish UNIT company in September 2008 in Yerevan, Movsisian said that procedure was continuing and begining in early 2009, Armenian Electricity Networks CJSC will start supplying 1,5 billion kilowatt per hour of electricity a year eventually increasing the annual volume of supplies to 3,5KW/h. Experts points that if power supply agreement comes to reality and Armenia starts to export electricity to Turkey it would mean that Turkey opened its border to Armenia. Turkey closed its border to its neighbour Armenia after Armenian armed forces occupied Azerbaijani territory Nagorno Karabakh. |
