THIRD CONTACT WITH YEREVAN TO BE IN HELSINKI Print E-mail

In the recent meeting of Foreign Minister Ali Babacan with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian parties decided to continue with trilateral talks among Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The meeting which will be among Foreign Ministers of three countries is planned to be on 4-5 December.

Babacan hosted Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian in Four Seasons Hotel in Bosphorus. Near Foreign Ministers also foreign ministry officials attended to the dinner which approximately lasted 2,5 hours.

Armenian party repeated its opinion about normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia without any preconditions while Babacan was calling for attention over Karabakh dispute and calling for acceleration in dialogue. Nalbandian said that their approach to the resolution process between Armenia and Azerbaijan was positive and said that they were inclined for a solution which will be around international laws.

As Foreing Minister Ali Babacan implied that those chances should be used very well and shouldn’t be wasted. Babacan said that the trilateral meeting among Turkish Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign Ministers was so important and said that it was so important to go on with meetings. Both sides agreed to have another trilateral meeting during summit Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) that will be held on 4-5 december in Helsinki. Babacan will go to Baku to provide attendance of Azerbaijani officials to the meeting.
