An Armenian official replied the statements of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev about using military option towards solution of Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Spokesman to Armenian Presidency said that Armenia will recognize so called Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh if Azerbaijan uses military force to end the occupation.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had said that Azerbaijan will not negotiate Nagorno-Karabakh problem forever and will go on negotiations as long as there is hope for peaceful solution of the problem. President of Azerbaijan had said, “If we lose our hope on resolution of the problem by peaceful methods, then there will not remain any other option other than military solution.” Aliyev had said that they will not any more let Armenia to delay the solution of the problem and this meeting will be decisive whether Azerbaijan will continue negotiations or not.

Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan’s spokesman Samvel Farmanyan said, “We did not recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state till now just for one reason. And that is to not to damage the peace process.”

Farmanyan said, “If peace negotiations fail and if Azerbaijan initiates military operation, then there would not be any obstacle for us to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh.”
