Armenia has three border check-point on its border with Turkey. Two of them are Akhurig and Markara highway borders and one of them is railway. In the case of opening of the borders between Turkey and Armenia, it will take a few days for Armenia to prepare railways for transportation.

Armenian Transport Minister Gurgen Sargsyan briefed journalists on the situation of Armenia’s highways and railways that connect Armenia to Turkey. Armenian Minister said that Armenian railways will be ready for transportation in a few days after opening of borders between Turkey and Armenia.

Sargsyan said that gauges of Turkish and Armenian railways are different and that creates problem.

Armenian Minister also said that repair works are being carried out on the highways between Turkey and Armenia.
