![]() Henry A. Kissinger Senior Fellow for U. S. Foreign Policy at the Council on Foreign Relations, Walter Russell Mead stated that he does not expect for so called Armenian genocide resolution to be passed from the U. S. Congress. Mead said that he does not believe that a resolution about so called Armenian genocide will be recognized by U.S. President or will be passed from U. S. Congress. Calling United States to avoid adoption and France to remove the decision on so called Armenian genocide, Walter Russel Mead stated that countries should keep history and politics seperately as in the case of politics and religion. Mead said, “As we seperate the state from religion, we should also seperate the state from history. States should not pass laws like ’that is a genocide, on the other hand thatone is not’.” Kissinger Senior Fellow for U. S. Foreign Policy at the Council on Foreign Relations, Walter Russell Mead informed press on the policies of U.S. President Barack Obama. When a journalist asked whether he approves the foreign policy that Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu follows or not, Mead said, “Turkish foreign policy is very stable and firm.” Stressing that Turkey is following a very constructive and positive foreign policy since long time, Mead said, “Turkey showed political will toward resolution of the Cyprus and Armenia problems. Turkey was also flexible on its policy towards resolution of the problem in Iraq. Besides, Turkey’s EU policies are very firm.” Commenting on the relations between Turkey and Israel, Mead said, “If Turkey demands the role of mediation, it should gain the trust of both sides.” |
